We are seeking a skilled Digger Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to assist with excavation, site preparation, and material handling tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating heavy equipment to contribute to large-scale projects in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties
• Operate excavators and other earth-moving machinery with precision and safety awareness
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment before and after use
• Assist with site preparation, digging trenches, foundations, and grading tasks
• Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
• Support logistical operations by assisting with the transportation of materials using commercial driving skills when required
Experience
• Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery in a construction environment
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance
• Valid commercial driving licence is desirable for transporting equipment or materials between sites
• Familiarity with health and safety standards relevant to construction sites
• Previous experience working on large-scale projects is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

LANTRA qualification or similar.
NRSWA signing, lighting and guarding (preferable but not essential.
